solve the diff.equation dy/dx -(1/x)y =2x^2

Dear student,

This is a first order linear differential equation.

Let us compare this equation with the standard first order linear differential equation which is:

dydx+P(x)y = Q(x)
From this we can say,

P(x) = -1x and Q(x) = 2x2
Now,
Integrating Factor(I.F.) = eP(x) dx = e-1xdx= e-ln(x) = eln(x)-1 = x-1 = 1xThe solution of the given equation isy × IF = Q×IF dx + Cyx = 2x2 × 1x dx + Cyx = x2 + Cy = x3 + Cx
