Solve the question given below and the answer for the question is 7.35 cm

The nearest point of main scale to vernier scale is 7.4 and the 5th reading of vernier coincides exactly with main scale.
hence according to formula
reading=M.S.D+(v.S.D×LC)
where LC is least count which is equal to 0.01 cm.
Now according to formula reading =7.4+(5×0.01)=7.45cm
The answer should be 7.45 not 7.35.
