Solve this question please 2. What is the effect of counter weight on the speed of elevator?

Dear Student , 

A counterweight is a weight that, by exerting an opposite force, provides balance and stability of a mechanical system.
Due to counter weight, lifting speed of elevator can be achieved with lesser energy consumption. Also lowering speed of elevator is safely reduced due to the counter weight.
