Some more points about agranulocytes
Dear student,
agranulocytes contain lymphocytes and monocytes. Monocytes further differentiate into macrophages ( phagocytic ) cells in the tissues and lymphocytes are the main cells that provide adaptive/humoral immunity. Lymphocytes contain following cell types :
agranulocytes contain lymphocytes and monocytes. Monocytes further differentiate into macrophages ( phagocytic ) cells in the tissues and lymphocytes are the main cells that provide adaptive/humoral immunity. Lymphocytes contain following cell types :
- Natural killer cells : kill any injured / infected cell which will be phagocytosed by phagocytic cells.
- B cells : produce antibodies that will bind with antigen to initiate other effective mechanisms to eliminate the antigen from system.
- T cells are further of two types:
- T helper cells : recognise the antigen (extracellular) and guide B cells to produce antibodies
- T cytotoxic cells or killer cell and it kills the infected and cancerous cells.
