Spirogyra ,Chlamydomonas These are the example of isogamy explain this ??
How they are the example??

Dear student,
Please find below the answer:

In Chlamydomonas, the two gametes (in the case of sexual reproduction) are similar in size and shape. These gametes fuse to form a zygote. which further develops into zoospore. Because of the morphological similarity in gametes of Chlamydomonas, the type of sexual reproduction in it is termed as isogmous.

Hope this clears your doubt.
Regards.

Most of the Chlamydomonas species are isogamous in nature. In isogamous reproduction the fusion of gametes, which are similar in size, shape and structure, take place. These gametes are morphologically similar but physiologically dissimilar.
