To authorize as a "Hotspot of biodiversity" on the "Myers 2000 edition" of the "hotspot-map", a region should meet two types of strict criteria:

It must hold at least "0.5% or 1,500 species" of vascular plants as the endemics.
It has to lost at least "Seventy percent" of its type of 'primary vegetation'.
Criteria for determining biodiversity hotspots are:

High levels of species richness.
High degree of endemism. Hotspots in "India - Western Ghats", Himalaya (Indo-Burma/Sunderland)
