Moment of a force (or torque) depends on two factors, the magnitude of the force applied and
the perpendicular distance of the line of action from the axis of rotation.
So, we can change any of them to change the moment of a given force.
Moment = F x R
where, F= magnitude of force
R=perpendicular distance of the line of action from the axis of rotation.
