State the functions of phloem at least 19 points

Dear student,
Please find below the answer:

Phloem is one of the types of vascular tissues present in plants that transports various inorganic nutrients and sugars such as sucrose to different parts of the plant body. The main function of phloem is to transport nutrients and sap (a water-based solution rich in sugar content) from one part of the plant to another which is essential for the growth and mantainence of the plant.

The phloem fibres support the conductive cells of the phloem (sieve cells and companion cells) and also provide strength to the plant stem.

Hope this information clears your doubt.
Regards.
