State the precautions which should be taken while using a metre scale to measure the length of an object.

To measure length with scale we should,
1)Keep the ruler exactly along the length to be measured
2)Avoid using worn out portions of the ruler
3)Keep the eye vertically above the point where the measurement is to be taken
