state the subject matter of statistics

The subject matter of statistics is divided under two headings:

1) Statistical methods: it includes collection, organisation, presentation, analysis and interpretation of data. 

2) Applied Statistics: it consists of two parts:

i) Descriptive: it deals with the data that has been collected.
ii) Scientific: it deals with formation of laws based on collected data.
