statistical methods are no substitute to common sense.Comment with example of your daily life

Dear student,

Statistical data should not be believed blindly as it can be misinterpreted or misused. The statistical data  involves personal bias. Statistical data and methods fail to reveal the errors committed by an investigator while surveying and collecting data. Therefore it is rightly said that statistical methods are no substitute for common sense. Thus, people are advised to use their common sense while working with the statistical data.

For example: In a survey on topic death rate it was found that death rate was higher in places where there are medical facilities as compared to places which lack medical facilities. This violate common sense and is misleading too.
Hence, the numerical data should not be deliberately used without applying common sense
