yes, it is true. because of statistics only we get the numerical data which shows the exact numbers and then we find a way to solve the problem, like if we don't know about the problem in detail then we will not be interested to solve the problem. so, yes statistics solves the economic problem as it is a step of the whole process.
for example- like if we got to know that some people met with an accident and are badly injured. some means we don't know the exact number and we think that ok it might be a small problem and government can solve it, but when we actually know the number like 5,00,000 or 50,000 then we think that yes they need our help, we can not leave it on government on whole.
