Steel is made up of iron and carbon , but which type of carbon ?

Dear student

The composition of steel is iron and carbon and some other elements. It mainly consists of iron, that is, the base element is iron. Carbon is present up to 2.14% of its weight in steel alloys.
Varying amount of carbon plays an important role in physical and chemical properties of different steel alloys.
Carbon is of the same type but differ only in the amount it is present.
