Steps to draw a perpendicular line to a given line

We follow these steps :

Step 1 :  Draw a line AB .

Step 2 :  Take any radius ( More than half of AB )  and center ' A ' and ' B '  draw two arcs from both centers and these arcs intersect each other at ' P ' and  ' Q ' .

Step 3 : Join PQ , So  AB PQ .

keep one point of the compass on the point and open the needle of compass more then half of the line then draw
an arc\
then with the same radius keep the compass needle on the other point and then mark the arc with same radius join the line where both the arcs meet
