Summary of the poem 'For you O Democracy' by Walt Whitman

The poet calls the comrades, or the patriots, who will help him to make a strong state with the noble ideals of democracy. He wants to create a state where ideals of equality,brotherhood and companionship exists. The poet wants to make America as a splendid nation, where there is no discrimination or disparity, where people coexist peacefully and where the government works according to the wish of the people. The poet dedicates his verse to his country and he thinks it to be his duty to serve the nation and think about its betterment.
