Taking sodium carbonate as an example give the meaning of the following terms
a) Anhydrous
b)Effloresence

1) Anhydrous means a salt without water. If there is no water of crystallization present in the salt then the salt is called as anhydrous.  
2) Efflorescence is the process in which a hydrated salt loes its water of crystallization when comes in contact with water.

The process in which hydrated salt loses its water of cyustalisation to the air is called efflorescence
Ex- sodium carbonate deca hydrate(Na^2CO^3.10H^2O) will lose water when exposed to air.
