the area of the largest square that can be inscribed in a circle of radius 12cm is:well ans given is 288cm2

i wantexplanation of the steps of ans .pls! ans.

Let s = side of the square that is inscribed in a circle.
diameter of the circle = diagonal of the square
2(12) = 2s
2 s = 24s = 242 = 242×22 = 2422 = 122 cmarea of square = s2 =  1222 = 288 cm2

its quite easy,

the diagonal of the square would be the diameter of the circle,i.e. diagonal= 24 cm

now let each side be xcm then x^2 +x^2= 24^2

2x^2= 576

x^2= 288cm2.hence the area of the square is 288cm2
