Sorter's disease is a pulmonary form of anthrax that results from the inhalation of spores of the bacterium Bacillus anthracis in the wool of contaminated sheep.The opening of our windpipe and foodpipe are quite close. Inspite of that the food does not go in the windpipe. This is because when you swallow a small ball of meshed food or liquids, a special flap called the epiglottis flops down over the opening of your windpipe to make sure the food enters the foodpipe and not the windpipe.
