The collection of water molecules have wetting properties ; individual molecules do not wet ? Why so ?

Dear student,

As we know that  a wet  item also possesses the ability to be dry. Also we know that the wetting is done in molecules by the support of neighbouring molecules. Each individual molecule is not wet by itself but by the help of surrounding molecules.
Wetness is the potentiality of a liquid to comply to the surface of a solid, so by the mean of saying that something is wet , we actually mean that the liquid is adhere  to the surface of that material.

Regards!!!
