The equilibrium constant of the reaction A2 +B2 = 2AB at 100 C is 50 . If one litre fladk containing one mole A2 is connectef to a two litre flask containing two moles B2 then how many moles of AB will be formed at 373k ?

Dear student,
Equilibrium constant K= [AB]2/[A2][B2
Total volume of flask=1+2=3L
[A2]= 1/3=0.33M
[B2]=2/3=0.66M
Therefore, [AB]2= K*[A2][B2]= 50*0.33*0.66= 10.89
[AB]=3.30M
No. of moles of AB= 3.30*3=9.9 moles

Moles of AB is 1.75 moles

  • -6
Since vol is 3lit the concn will be divided by 3 and it will be xsquare not 4xsquare

ans is 1.868
  • 10
moles of AB = 1.91
