I can't see your problem here as the poem is
very straight forward. The poet observes the
journey of a wild herd of goats which move
through the hills and graze as they go. He
envies their freedom and time spent sitting in a
sunny spot just contemplating the peace. He
muses that if only he too could live in such a
simple way he may have the inspiration to
think deep thoughts and find something which
has alluded him. He knows it is in his mind but
he has never been able to access it. Perhaps it
is the knowledge of himself? He does desire to
be be alone and undisturbed with his thoughts.
He wishes to be free of the presence of the
you" mentioned in the poem. His lover
perhaps? Once free of all disturbances he
knows he will become enlightened.
