the income of two persons a and b are in the ratio 8:7 and the ratio of their expentiture is 19:16 . if their savings are 2550 per month ,find their monthly income

let incomes be 8x, 7x respectively ...... let expenses be 19y, 16y respectively ....

given, saviings of both person is equal to 2550....

so, 8x - 19y = 7x - 16y

= x = 3y ..... (1)

now, substitute (1) in 8x - 19y = 2550

= 24y - 19y = 2550

= 5y = 2550

= y = 510

using (1), x = 3*510 = 1530.

so their monthly incomes are (1530*8) and (1530*7)

therefore, their incomes are Rs12,240 and Rs10,710
