The length of a rectangle is 4 times the breadth. If the perimeter is 125 m, find the length and breadth of the rectangle.

Let the breadth of the rectangle be z

So, length of the rectangle will be 4z

Perimeter= 2(length +breadth)

125 =(2 x 4z) + (2 x z)

= 8z + 2z = 10z

`10z= 125

z=breadth= 125/10

= 12.5m
length= 4z= 12.5 x 4= 50 m

Let the breadth of the rectangle be z

So, length of the rectangle will be 4z

Perimeter= 2(length +breadth)

125 =(2 x 4z) + (2 x z)

= 6z + 2z = 8z

8z= 125

z=breadth= 125/8

= 15.625m ;length= 4z= 15.625 x 4= 62.5 m
