The length of the minute hand of a clock is 14 cm. Find the area swept by the minute hand in 5 minutes.

 radius= 14cm

(22 /7 X 14 x14) 5

  • -8

 5 minutes= 5/60 = 1/12

1/12= 1/12 x 360= 30

area= pi r squared x theta/360= 22/7 x 14 x 14 x 30/360 = 154/3 = 51.33 cm sq.

  • 24

length= 14 cm

angle= 5 * 6 = 30 degree                    {because, angle swept in 1 min = 60/360 = 6 degree}

area swept = 30/360 * 22/7 * 14 * 14

                    = 1/12 *22 * 2 * 14

                    = 154/3

                    = 51.33 cm^2

Thank you friends...:)

The minute hand of clock acts and radius of clock which is 14cm long.

Therefore angle made by min hand in 5 mins= 5/60 * 6/6  =  30'

Now Area swept by min hand = Area of Sector =

= 22/7 * 14 * 14 *  30/360

=  22 * 2 * 14 * 1/12

= 154/3  cm square or

     51.333  cm square

  • 23

length= 14 cm

angle= 5 * 6 = 30 degree

area swept = 30/360 * 22/7 * 14 * 14

= 1/12 *22 * 2 * 14

= 154/3p

= 51.33 cm^2

Hope u understan, thumbs up!!!

  • 27

how does 154/3 come

  • 1
1/12*22*2*14 = 154/3 Zayed Al Kabir... 12 and 22 get cut ( u can also cut 12 with 2 or 14 if u wish) then u have 1/6*11*2*14 then cut 6 with 2 or 14 then the denominator will be 3 and if u multiply the numerators then u will get 154 therefore u get 154/3... :)

thank u

thnk u so much......

area of sector = 0/360*/2
for 1 min =60/360=6
for 5min =5*6=30
area of sector=30/360*22/7*14*14
                      =1/3*11*14
                     =154/3
                     =51.33
  • -6
area of sector for 1 min = 60/360=6
                      for 5 min=6*5=30
area of sector = 22/7*14*14*30/360
                      = 51.33
hope u understand have a blast

length=14 cm
angle made by minute hand in 5 minute = 360/12            because  in a clock 12 parts are there to complete 360o
                                                                  = 30o
so, the area swept = 30o/360o * (14)2

= 1/12 *196
                              =  16.33 cm2

see here this is correct format

take length of minute hand as radius of circle i.e 14 cm

area swept by minute hand in 15 minutes therefore angle = 30 degrees

area = 30/360 * 22/7 * 14 * 14 =  51.33

hope it helps.
like this please.
all the best for your exams.

51.33 cm^2

radius of hand of clock=14 cm
total angle in a clock = 360
total no. of minutes in an hour = 60 min
angle swept by a minute = 360/60 = 6
time given = 5 min
therefore, angle swept by 5 minutes = 6*5=30
area of sector = theeta/360*pie r square
                      = 30/360*22/7*14*14
                     = 51.33 sq.cm

 The length of the minute hand of a clock is 14 cm. Find the area swept by the minute hand from 10 am to 10. 40 am
  • -1
LENGTH OF MINUTE HAND OR RADIUS = 14
ANGLE= 360/12 = 30
AREA =  AREA OF SECTOR
30/360*22/7*14*14

the length of the minute hand should be taken as the radius of a circle and to work out the area of the circle which comes to 616cm2. The area covered by minute hand in 5 minutes is 616/12 cm2

1min. make angle of 6?
So angle in 5 min. is 30?

Radius of clock = 14cm

So
Area swept by minute hand = 30??360??22?7 ?14?14

Length of the minute hand is 5cm.

Length of the minute hand is the Radius of the circular clock.

So r = 14cm

As the minute hand subtends 360? to cover 60 minutes.

Therefore,
Angle subtended by the minute hand in 1 minute = 360?/60? = 6?

So angle subtended by minute hand in 5 minutes is = 6 ? 5 = 30?

So we have angle subtended in 5 mins = 30?

Now,
Area swept in 5 minutes = Theta/360 ? ?r?

=> 30/360 ? 22/7 ? 14 ? 14
=> (22 ? 2 ? 14) / 12
=> 154 / 3
=> 51.33cm?

?Therefore area swept by the minute hand in 5 minutes = 51.33cm?
  • 0
r= 14 cm
Angle made by it =360/12=30?
Area swept by it = 22/7? 14?14? 30/360
=> 51.3 cm

Tricki was a little dog in the story "A Triumph of Surgery". He was owned by Mrs. Pumphrey who pampered him too much and gave him a lot of fatty food to eat. Tricki did not get enough exercise and became overweight, lazy, and lethargic.
