The two participants in the conversation are the poet who is asking a question to rain and the rain who introduced itself as the voice of the earth. Through conversational poetry, the poet can put his point more strongly infront of the readers. This questioning and answering tone makes the poem more interesting. As the whole poem is written indirect narration so the originality of the answer given by the rain has been maintained.
