the quantity and the quality of the food is decreasing day by population is increasing drastically,mention the steps taken to improve this condition.experts pls answer it now​

Dear student,

Following are the methods are used to improve the quality and thus ultimately the quantity of crop :
1) Selection of strains with desired qualities having diseases and pest resistant, good product quality and high yields.
2) Hybridisation: Other way of incorporating desirable characters into crop variety is hybridisation which means crossing between genetically dissimilar plants. This hybridisation can be done inter varietal (between different varieties), interspecific (between two different species of the same genus) or inter generic (between different genera). 
3) Introducing a new gene which can produce desired traits is also a way to produce a crop variety with desirable traits. ​
