Three successes:
a. India can claim to be the largest democracy in the world, granting political freedom and equality to all.
b. People by virtue of fundamental rights participate in the governance of the country. It has ensured power sharing to all the groups and has given adequate representation to the weaker sections of society. One can give example of Reservation policy.
c. India is the fastest growing economy in the world, rich in resources and strategically located. Major Powers of the world have realized the growing importance of the country in an international scenario.
Failures:
a. Poverty, illiteracy, unemployment continue to hamper the progress of the country.
b. Even though we have established formal equality there exist a gap between theory and practise. Several groups continue to be discriminated. Caste, gender discrimination continues to haunt our society which are surely inimical to progress and development.
c. Rampant corruption, delays in the public process acts as a major hindrance.
