the social benefits, which the Indian people gained owing to the introduction to the railways, were this outweighted by the country 's huge ecoonomic loss?

the marine ways was also introduced which needed huge investment but it didnt worked well as the railways were doing and too railways also needed a huge investment. so, all this leaded to the country's huge economic loss.

well railways also promoted foreign trade but it benefited the Britishers more than Indians, the construction of railways led to huge economic losses to the Indian economy
