He was born on December 5, 1901, at 2156 North Tripp Avenue in Chicago's Hermosa community area
Walt Disney had a tough beginning. He along with his brother had to deliver morning newspapers before attending school, to eke out a living.
He began his artistic career in 1919. He considered becoming an actor, but decided to draw political caricatures or comic strips for a newspaper.
He is credited with the creation of some of the all time favorite cartoons like Mickey and Minnie mouse, Goofy, Bambi, Donald Duck, Pluto amongst many more
He ushered in the era of animation and is considered the most distinguished icon in the genre.
