the three states of matter are solid, liquid and gas. Which of the following statement is/are true about them?

(a) Solids and liquids have viscosity as a common property

(b) The molecules in solid state do not have translation motion

(c) Gases cannot be converted into solids without passing through the liquid phase

(d) Solids and liquids have vapour pressure as a common property

The option (d) is correct .
In option (a) Although some of the amorphous solid like glass shows the property of highly viscous liquid but it is not common to all the solid.
Solid and liquid both show vapour pressure depends on the intermolecular force of attraction in between the particles.
For example the intermolecular force of attraction is very weak in solid like I2 that the species like I2 will escape from the solid and end up in the gas phase even at room temperature or slight heating. For ionic solids, where the intermolecular force of attraction in between the particles are quite strong, the vapor pressure tend to be low, only noticeable at high temperature.
