We have ABCD as the given parallelogram in which AB = 12 cm, BC = 8 cmWe know that opposite sides of parallelogram are equal, thenCD = AB = 12 cm, AD = BC = 8 cmNow, let BL⊥CD and BM⊥AD
Now, BL = 6 cm     area of ∥gm ABCD = base × corresponding height⇒area of ∥gm ABCD = CD × BL = 12 ×6= 72 cm2Now, area of ∥gm ABCD = AD × BM⇒72 = 8 × BM⇒BM = 9 cmSo, corresponding height to the side AD = 9 cm
