Let point R9,α,β divides the line segment joining P7,2,1 and Q10,5,7 in the ratio of k : 1
Now, by section formula, coordinates of R are given by :9 = 10k+7k+1 ; α = 5k+2k+1; β = 7k+1k+1Now, 9 = 10k+7k+1⇒10k+7=9k+9⇒k = 2So, α = 5×2+22+1 = 4 and β = 7×2+12+1 = 5Hence, coordinates of R are R9,4,5
