There must be sufficient participation of women in development process. Why ? Clarify with examples.

Dear student,

Here is the answer:

Empowering women and including them in the development process are essential to maximise a nations development. The absence of women leader in the society is not due to lack of qualified women but is due to society's inability to recognise their skill and talent.

Today women are skilled and educated. In the past they have broken the social barriers. They have made tremendous achievement in various fields. With knowledge and skill they have created a place for themselves in every field.

Knowledge is the starting point. If relevant skill and opportunities are provided to women they can look into the problems from a different perspective. Not only men, women too have found new and innovative solutions  which fostered growth. Men and women each have role to perform in development of the country.

For example the Prime Minister of New Zealand Jacinda Ardern has shown the world that a woman too can handle pandemic. She was elected the head of the government at the age of 37. She had skilfully handled her personal life as a mother and her political life.
Today we have great women scholars, doctors, engineers, pilots, prime ministers, head of corporate companies etc. who are redefining gender roles. Women representation in the public and private sectors has improved. But there are challenges such as legal, social and economic barriers, gender roles, work-life balance, maternity issues and discrimination which needs to be tackled.

Equal participation of women is thus required in development process.
