this the topic for my icse maths project and i need how to bring it out - to use flat cut outs to form cube and cuboid and to obtain formulae of volume and total surface area of cube , cuboid and cylinder-

please tell how bring out formulae using these cut outs

Material used- Geometry box, chart paper, a pair of scissors/paper cutter, adhesive transparent tape.Procedure-1). On chart paper/coloured paper draw the nets of a cube, a cuboid etc as shown.2). Fold the nets to make cube , cuboid etc . Use adhesive tape to make them rigid.3). Find the surface areas and volumes as shown.
Nets of cube-

Observations:Area of each face of the cube=a×a=a2 square units, Total number of faces = 6So total surface area of this cube =6 a2And volume of cube = Area of base×height =a2×a=a3 cubic units

For cuboid:
Nets of cuboid-

Observations: In the cuboid 2 faces are having area = l×b each=2lbIn the cuboid 2 faces are having area =b×h each=2bhIn the cuboid 2 faces are having area = h×l each=2hlSo total surface area of a cuboid = 2lb+2bh+2hl= 2lb+bh+hl
Volume of cuboid =Area of base×height=lb×h=lbh cubic unit
