Here the volume of the cube is 1000cm
​the volume of cube is a3 
         a3=1000
         a= 10cm
then the surface area of cuboid is 2(lb+bh+hl)
​here the length,breadth and height are equal
2(10*10+10*10+10*10)
=2(300)
 = 600cm2

Edge of one cube =cube root of 1000=10cm
When joined, the resultant cuboid has the following dimensions
l=10 cm
b=10 cm
h=30 cm( since three cubes are joined)
Therefore,
Surface area=2(lb+bh+lh)
=2(10*10+10*30+10*30)
=2(100+300+300)
=2*700
=1400cm 3

Prathyusha if the length breath and height are equal then it will be a cube. Since 3 cubes are joined there must be some change in the dimensions
