Suppose the number is x.
So,  three fifth of a number = 3x5
And two fourth of a number = 2x4
Now according to the question, three fifth of a number is greater than two fourth of a number by 6, So we have;
2x4+6 = 3x5⇒x2+6 = 3x5⇒x2-3x5 = -6⇒5x-6x10 = -6⇒-x10 = -6⇒x = 10×6 = 60
Therefore the number is 60.

(3x/5)-(2x/4)=6

(12x-10x)/20=6 Here we are making both the denominator equal by taking the L.C.M.

2x/20=6

2x=6 X 20 we shift the denominator from L.H.S to R.H.S so the sign will change from / to X

2x=120

x=60

hence the number is 60.
