To a large extent the vegetation in any area is determined by
(a) temperature and pH.
(b) pH, mineral composition and light.
(c) pH, mineral composition and topography.
(d) types of minerals in soil.

Dear student

Option a is correct.
Temperature along with humidity in the air, precipitation and soil determine the character and extent of vegetation.
pH of soil plays major role. Highly acidic and basic soil prevents vegetation whereas neutral soil enhances the plant growth.
Himalayas slopes and peninsular hills (above the height of 915 metres), the fall in temperature affects the types of vegetation and its growth and changes it from tropical to subtropical temperature and alpine vegetation.
