‘‘To discard the household waste we should have two separate dust-bins, one for the biodegradable waste and the other for the non-biodegradable waste.’’ Justify this statement suggesting the proper way of disposal of these wastes

Biodegradable wastes are broken down by microorganisms and can also contribute to soil fertility. Therefore they could be used in vermicomposts and can be utilised as manure.
But, non-biodegradable wastes are harmful for the soil. They have to be segregated and those recyclable have to be recycled.

Dear Jincy,
It will be better to throw biodegradable and non-biodegradable wastes seperately so that it can be benefitial for the environment. If you will throw biodegradable wastes in a cloth or jute bag, then you know that all these wastes will soon get decomposed and mixed up with the environment, causing no harm to it. On the other hand, if you throw both the wastes in the same bag, then due to release of toxic gases and substances by plastics and metals, they will react with the biodegradable wastes, leading to the accumulation of harmful gases in them too. Thus, it is always better to seperate out the wastes before disposing them off. This will be helpful for you, the environment and also seeing from the point of convenience - good...

HOPE IT HELPS YOU...

Hi Vincy,
As Tanvi said it will result in accumulation of toxic gases on them. But also we have learnt about 3R's. Reuse, Reduse & Recycle. If we have to recycle the wastes, then ofcourse we should sort it out. This is why two types of waste bins are kept.

Hope this helps you, best of luck for the boards....
