Today is Lakshmi's birthday.She turned 24.Lakshmi is twice as old as Ramu was when Lakshmi was as old as Ramu now.How old is Ramu now?

let x be Bob's age now
let x-y be bobs age then.
hence Alice's age then=24-y which is also equal to x cuz Alice's age then=Bob's age now
and Alice's age now =2(x-y)=24
x-y=12
SO:
24-y=x
y=24-x
Substituting in other equation:
x-(24-x)=12
x=18

Let Ramu's present age be RP and old age be RO.
2 x RP =  LO
LO = 24 yrs/2 = 12 years

LO = RP (given in que.)  - 1st eqn

Difference of ages b/w two person always keeps same.
LP - RP = LO - RO
24 years - RP = LO - 12 years
Replace LO by RP according to 1st equation
24 years - RP = RP - 12 years
24 years + 12 years = RP + RP
36 years = 2RP
RP = 36 years/2
RP (Ramu's Present age) = 18 years

laxmi aaj 24 saal ki hai aur vo do guni hai ramu ki us time ki age ki jab laxmi ki umar utni thi jitni ramu ki umar aaj hai...
so today laxmi 24 and ramu x.
than laxmi x and ramu 12(kyuki tab jo ramu ki age thi us age ki laxmi aaj 2 times hai)
x+y=24......(1)
12+y=x.......(2)  =  x-y=12....(2)
on solving 1st and 2nd eq. we get
2x=36
x=18
so guys present age of Ramu is 18
