Tooth enamel is one of the hardest substance in our body. How does it undergo damage due to eating chocolates and sweets? What should we do to prevent it?
Tooth enamel corrodes when it reacts with acid. When we eat chocolates or sweets, some part of the chocolate/sweet get stuck to the tooth. The small microorganisms present in our mouth decompose these chocolate/sweet by releasing mild acids. Thus tooth emamel undergo damage.
To prevent this we must brush ou teeth twice a day, using a toothpaste, as toothpaste contain mild base, which neutralize the effect of the acid in our mouth
