transister metals are much harder than alaki metals
This is because transition metals have more number of unpaired electrons in their valence shells. As a result, they are able to form very strong metallic bonds, which results in extreme hardness as compared to alkali metals (which only have one unpaired electron, and thus cannot have strong metallic bonding).
