Let thE K.E. of A & B be x

mass of A ( m ) = 4 kg , mass of B ( M ) = 16 kg

K.E. of A = 1 / 2 mv2                     

x = 1 / 2 X 4 X v2                                                        

v2 =x / 2 

K.E. of B = 1 / 2 MV2

  x = 1 / 2 X 16 X V2                  

V2 =x / 8

Ratio of velocities = V2 / v2

                              = x / 8 divided by x / 2

                              = 1 : 4

Now,x=1/2X16kgXv2b=1/2X4kgXv2a

=8kgXv2b=2kgXv2a

=v2b/v2a=2kg/8kg=1:4
