Two cubes each of side 4cm are joined end to end.Find the surface area of the resulting cuboid

Given, the edge of the cube is 4 cm.

When two cubes are joined end to end, then the resulting solid is a cuboid.

Length of the cuboid, l = 2 × Edge of the cube = 2 × 4 cm = 8 cm

Breadth of the cuboid, b = Edge of the cube = 4 cm

Height of the cuboid, h = Edge of the cube = 4 cm

Surface area of the cuboid

= 2 (lb + bh + hl)

= 2 (8 cm × 4 cm + 4 cm × 4 cm + 4 cm × 8 cm)

= 2 (32 cm2 + 16 cm2 + 32 cm2)

= 2 × 80 cm2

= 160 cm2

Thus, the surface area of the resulting cuboid is 160 cm2.

SURFACE AREA OF RESULTING CU2BOID = S .A OF 1ST CUBE - ONE SIDE (WHICH IS NOT THERE WHEN TWO                                                                                           CUBES ARE JOINED)  + S.A OF 2ND - 1 SIDE

                                                                              =6a- a2 + 6a2 - a2

                                                                               =5a2 + 5a2

                                                                              =10 * 42 = 10 * 16 = 160cm2

we have , cubes sides 4 cm& we get cuboid

length of cubiod=4+4=8 cm

breath of cuboid =4 cm

height of cuboid=4cm

 then , surface area of cuboid= 2 (lb+bh+hl)

                                                   = 2 (8*4 +4*4+4*8)

                                                     = 2 (32+16+32)

                                                         = 2*80 = 160 cm2

surface area of cuboid = 160cm2
