Two elements A and B have 14 and 9 electrons in M and N shell respectively. Then the ration of their atomic numbers is?

1. According to the Bohr's Model of atom, the outermost shell can accommodate only 8 electrons in it.

2. So,

      Atomic number of A = 2 + 8 +14 + 8 = 32
     Atomic number of B = 2 + 8 + 18 + 9 + 8 = 45

3. Thus ratio of Atomic number in A ; B =0.71

  • -18
A electronic configuration is 2,8,14, 9
same is for B
therefore....atomic no of A and B is same ..... 2+8+14+9=33
ratio of their atomic numbers is 33/33=1

  • -14
Electronic configuration for A = 2,8,14,9
Electronic configuration for B = 2,8,14,9
Atomic number of A = 33
Atomic number of B = 33
Ratio of their Atomic Masses = 33 / 33
                                                = 1 : 1
