Two metals A B have work functions 4 eV 10 eV respectively. Which metal has lower threshold frquency?

An expression for the work function W in terms of threshold wavelength λ, planks constant h and speed of light c is given as,
 W=hcλ
or,
 λ=hcW
As the product hc is constant, so we can write,
 λ1W
By using above equation we can concluded that greater the work function lesser will be the threshold wavelength. Thus, the metal having greater work function value (10 ev) will have smaller threshold wavelength than that metal having work function value (4 ev) respectively.
