Let AD and CE are two poles of height 18 cm and 13 cm respectively.

And, distance between these two poles (DE) = 12 m = 12 $\times$ 100 = 1200 cm

Now,

BD = CD = 13 cm

So, AB = AD - BD = 18 - 13 = 5 cm

$I n Δ A B C, {A C}^{2} = {A B}^{2} + {B C}^{2} \Rightarrow {A C}^{2} = {(1200)}^{2} + {(5)}^{2} = 1440000 + 25 = 1440025 \Rightarrow A C = 1200.010417 \Rightarrow A C \approx 1200 c m$

Hence, distance between their tops is 1200 cm.
