Two raw material use in the manufacture indigenous soap

Dear Student, 

Soap is manufactured by a process called saponification. It is a reaction in which sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide reacts with vegetable or animal oil (fat). 
So, the primary raw material for manufacturing soap are :
  1.  Alkali- Commonly sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide is used
  2. Fat - Commonly animal fat, palm oil or coconut oil is used
