Yes I agree with the given statement that wholesalers provide innumerable functions to retailers and producers but still they are criticised. The wholesalers are criticised due to following reasons.
i) Wholesalers just act as a middlemen between producers and retailers and the profit earned by the wholesalers raises the cost of commodity.
ii) Wholesalers are considered as a hindrance between manufacturers and consumers and create obstacles in trade relations among both of them.
iii) Wholesalers are biassed towards different retailers in terms of charging prices for the goods distributed, i.e. they charge high price from some retailers and low price from the others.
