(a) Several irrigation systems have been adopted to supply water in agricultural lands. These are as follows:
(c) In a river lift system , water is directly drawn from the rivers for supplementing irrigation in regions near the river. This system is adopted when the canal flow is insufficient or irregular due to inadequate reservoir release. Whereas in canal lift system of irrigation, there are man-made water channel systems used for delivering adequate water to fields for irrigation. Canals are connected with water reservoirs or rivers. The main canal is divided into many branches that supply water.
