vi) What role has the Government played in overcoming problems of
Social issues like suffering of casual workers, migration of workers, mob
lynching ,etc. Explain
Dear Student,
Social issues like suffering of casual workers, migration of workers, mob lynching etc.have been existent since the time of independence. Such issues are not fully wiped out .But from time to time Government has been trying to pass laws to overcome them.
a. In the budget sessions, budgets are being presented to cater to the demands of the casual workers. Recently, due to the coronavirus pandemic which affected the casual workers more, government had released finance to provide economic support to them.
b. Government also make arrangements for the travel and food of the migrant workers. During difficult times of the pandemic time to time support has been provided to rescue them from hunger and illness. The state governments in some states have come together to provide food and ration to casual workers and farmers
Mob lynching although is a criminalised offence, has yet to be dealt with properly. There are no laws regard to mob lynching. So a law becomes essential to tackle the issue. As it is difficult to identify the real accused in an informal group. The Supreme Court from time to time opposed mob lynching incidents across the country. It has directed the Parliament to make laws to deal with the crime that hampers Rule of Law and the country’s social environment.
